Boca Raton startup scores more than half a million dollars in funding

Boca Raton-based startup Candidate.Guru has scored $600,000 in funding.

The Series A round was led by Fan Fund, an Orlando-based early-stage fund that targets Florida companies in tech and life sciences.

“We’re very proud of the fact that we started the company in Florida and have raised all of this money from within Florida,” said Candidate.Guru CEO Chris Daniels. “We want to make this a Florida success story.”

Candidate.Guru, founded in 2014, produces human resources software that uses predictive analytics to sort candidates based on culture fit.

The company intends to use the funding primarily toward sales and marketing efforts, as well as product development. According to Daniels, it has booked more than $50,000 in revenue this year.

Candidate.Guru had previously raised $475,000 in angel funding, Daniels said.
