MIT South Florida is having an entrepreneurial competition for $10,000 in financing, along with $5,000 of legal advice and $5,000 in business consulting services.
Technology startups can submit business plans to MIT on the Miami Innovation Fund’s website at: gust.com/angel-group/miami-innovation-fund. Four winners will be chosen to present to the panel of early stage investors. There is no cost to submit a business plan. The deadline for submissions is Sept. 20.
The panelists scheduled are: Chris Callahan, founder and president of Startup Palm Beach in West Palm Beach; Jack Karabees, co-founder of the Miami Innovation Fund; and Andrew Heitner, principal at Alcon Partners in Miami.
The winner will be announced live the night of the event, which is set for 6:30 to 9 p.m. Sept. 27 at Keiser University, 2600 N. Military Trail in West Palm Beach. For those who want to attend, tickets are $30 before Sept. 15 and $35 after that date.
