AEROSPACE COMPANY TO EXPAND IN PALM BEACH COUNTY, CREATE JOBS

Cyient Defense Services will expand in Jupiter and create 50 new jobs to tap into South Florida’s growing aerospace industry.

The engineering and technology firm invested $3.5 million into its new 30,000-square-foot facility at 15300 Park of Commerce Blvd. in Jupiter.

The new jobs, an addition to Cyient’s current 150-person workforce, will pay an average salary of $85,000, according to the Business Development Board (BDB) of Palm Beach County. The company did not receive tax incentives to expand.

Cyient provides hardware and engineering services for the aviation, aerospace and engineering industries. According to its website, the company has experience servicing multiple rotary and fixed-wing systems produced by U.S. and European manufacturers.

“Cyient will have access to not only the strong [aviation, aerospace and engineering] cluster here, but also the diverse manufacturing sector,” Kelly Smallridge, president and CEO of the BDB, said in a statement.

Palm Beach County is home to more than 1,350 aviation and aerospace-related companies, including Lockheed Martin, Sikorsky and Pratt & Whitney. The BDB reports the sector employs more than 17,000 people, with jobs that pay an average of $90,000.
